The PR7 Adventure is AJP’s entry into the popular ‘Adventure’ motorcycling sector that has been made famous initially by BMW in the 1980s and followed by Honda and other big motorcycling manufacturers in the more recent period. When BMW came out with its ground-breaking R80 G/S motorcycle with boxer engine that went on to pioneer the Adventure motorcycling sector that remains one of the most popular sectors in motorcycling, it was light, agile and had a low centre of gravity. It was easy to maintain on the road, anywhere. It had a 21” front wheel and an 18” rear wheel, synonymous with enduro bikes. This BMW was meant to take you anywhere, whether on road or off-road, as you explored the world. Sure enough, it became very popular with the round the world traveler for many years to come.

As the current Adventure motorcycle market is filled with large capacity heavyweight motorcycles filled with electronics and have therefore diverted from the simplicity of the original Adventure motorcycle, the BMW R80 G/S, AJP created the lightweight, agile, and very road and off-road capable RR7 that has gone back to the basics of an Adventure motorcycle that will truly take you anywhere you want to go and that you want to ride around the world. Weighing in at 165 kgs fully fuelled with a travel range of some 450 km, the PR7 weighs some 45 kgs less that its closest competitor in this sector. This is no small difference when you ride down a sandy track and, unless you are a highly skilled off-road motorcyclist, you have to pick up the motorcycle off the ground multiple times.

Powered by a powerful vibration balanced 600 cc DOHC liquid cooled fuel injected engine churning out some 40 HP as a standard and up to 68 HP with the extra racing kit installed, this bike may be light in weight but is no lightweight when it comes to covering large distances over main roads or difficult and challenging terrain. The easy to use tablet built into the console connects you to the motorcycle and the outside world with a limited number of electronics keeping this motorcycle simple and easy to repair on the road in the unlikely event of a break down. The PR7 is a true Adventure bike in every sense of the word.
